Collective Worship at Richard Taylor Church of England Primary School
Collective worship is at the heart of the school day.
Collective worship at Richard Taylor Church of England Primary School takes place at 1.15pm every day. This time is chosen to reflect the central role that this time plays in the life of the school. Everyone is invited to share in a time of reflection, learning, celebration, and prayer. It is an inclusive time for children of all faiths and none.
We invite a wide range of faith leaders from the local community to lead worship on Tuesdays. Other times are led by senior leaders, our worship ambassadors, and classes.
We hold class based worship on a weekly basis and ensure that the children have opportunities for spiritual reflection and the chance to experience moments of stillness during their week.
Children from year six act as worship ambassadors every day, welcoming the children, preparing the hall and leading elements of the worship.
Our worship times also reflect the seasons of the Church year. We hold a lantern service at St John’s Church to celebrate Advent.
Harvest, Armistice Day, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost are all part of our year of celebration and reflection.
We visit St John’s Church throughout the year at times of special celebration. This allows us to invite all members of our community to join us.
